Lauren DeLisa Coleman is part of the new technorati-to-watch and a rising, formidable personality for
the digi-speak era. Said to be the Anti-Oprah, in terms of recognizing that in the new "leaderful" era the
best approach is to provide maximum perspective and digi-socio collaboration rather than try and dominate
behavior as the gurus of old, Coleman is well-positioned as an information source and power player in
the socio-mobile space. She has taken the lead knowing that the best one can do now is support
people in finding their own voice and new opportunities amidst turbulent social change and translate such change as it converges with tech in the era
of self-competency As an author, speaker, personality and consultant who tracks global social shift as it converges
with popular culture and its impact on business and governance, she defines herself as a socio-economic digitalist and is a pioneer in this arena.
As a special aspect of her research and work, Coleman is the first to identify and define a neo-global behavioral
phenomenon. Applying a re-definition of the term SmartPower™, Coleman has named the phenomenon
as such to explain the rise of a new mind set where people are seeking to become more self-determinant,
socially conscious and use tech extensions, such as Smartphones, to explore and express a new power
dynamic around the world. She explores this occurrence via several platforms:
A. Her week daily "SmartPower™" podcast (see "LDC Radio" on this site) explores pop-socio shift and
provides news in a new context.
B. She just release "Rise of the SmartPower Class: navigating the new digital, leaderful era". This is her
first eBook and was included in its first week of release on Amazon's "Hot New Releases - Best: Media
Studies." The work examines this new cultural SmartPower™ phenomenon and includes quotes from such
notables as rap legend Chuck D and the HBO executive for "Real Time with Bill Maher."
C. An extension of the comment-sphere analysis in her book, Coleman has just launched unprecedented
website with her new start-up team to curate and provide real-time analysis of the comment-sphere on
the hottest topics of the day in celebrity, politics, race and technology. The BETA version is available at
www.glassldc.com (see "GlassLdC" on this site) and provides a living microcosm of social change as it unfolds daily and a new view of
comments.
Based on the above, she provides future trend consultation and speaks and writes on this mash-up of issues.
An entrepreneur with 14 years of experience, Coleman is the founder emeritus of
Punch Media Group an edgy digital branding and
consulting company with offices in both the U.S. and Europe that specialized in reaching 18-34 across mobile
phone/emerging tech platforms. The PMG corporate mission was achieved in helping businesses cultivate
profitable ideas and strategy utilizing mobile/emerging technology and integrating that into their existing business.
Under her relentless guidance and her ability to sense cultural cues early on,, the company created a track record of successful account management, data analysis,
relationship management and metrics achievement. Coleman succeeded in creating a leading company specializing in
reaching the biggest and most frequent user of mobile/emerging tech today: hip, diverse demographics; and worked with
notables from Microsoft to Snoop Dogg
and has even been the force behind client revenue increase of up to 87% within a specific category. Prior to starting
Punch Media Group, she was employed at Viacom/MTV Networks.
Currently, Coleman appears frequently on San Francisco's KPOO radio as new media critic, has been
featured as guest lecturer at Columbia University, moderated a number of panel discussions both in the
U.S. and abroad and is a contributor to such outlets as NewsweekDailyBeast, MadameNoire.com and
cnbc.com. Coleman is a committee Chair of the NAMDE advocacy organization in Washington, D.C.
and on the advisory council of the Barnard College Entrepreneur Group. She has just been invited to be a Founding Member of MMTC's New Telecommunications and Internet Policy Taskforce where she will focus on spectrum-related issues.
She is an Ivy League graduate;
Columbia University.
